As far as the front, most just do the a-arms and spindle swap and they usually dont do the rear since 73-87 rears are leaf spring and not coils. 71-72 would work best for both but are coming hard to find.

What size tires are those (ie 235/75/15)?

Re: 60-66 chevy pics with 73 to 87 front and rearend.

Jeff, I did the swap using a '75. I cut the brackets off both my '64 and '75 rears and welded the '64 stuff back onto the '75. As far as the frontend, I took the entire crossmember from the '75 and bolted it in place (with minor hole drilling/reaming). Like Clyde said, the '71-'72 stuff is getting rare.....

Here's a link to my website where I took as many pics as I could:

Hope it helps!

Thanks Mike. Those are very helpful pics. I think that is exactly the direction I plan on going. I have two half ton pickups in the backyard. 86 and 82 all with front and rear.

Re: 60-66 chevy pics with 73 to 87 front and rearend.

no prob, glad I could help. Just a note, I had the brackets TIG welded to avoid warpage. It might not be necessary, but I didn't want to take a chance warping it.

The 86 will have metric bolts and such. The 82 should be standard. I think the cutoff year was 83. Just a heads up.

I thought the metric didn't start until 88 but good info.
