I'm still planning on getting you some pictures, but been raining here non-stop so I haven't had the truck out. FWIW, the adapters in the rear makes a huge difference in looks. Before, I would be told that my truck was crab walking on multiple occasions, and then I would have to explain that the front track on Blazers is 4 inches wider than the rear which gave it that illusion. There's zero effect on how the truck drives with the adapters installed.

Re: Wheel Spacers - Good thing?

So with spacers you get increased deposition of road debris and grime along the body? How are these an improvement?

It's an improvement because these trucks look like crap going down the road with the front track being 4 inches wider. Road debris and grime is more of a problem with the front wheels anyway. Debris on the rear is a mute point.

Re: Wheel Spacers - Good thing?

I hate mud so it will never see it. I don’t even drive it in the rain. It’s a summer toy for me. It does look good with the wheel spaced out.

Re: Wheel Spacers - Good thing?

I thought the front was 2" wider, but I've seen 3" and 4" on this thread. Which is it?

Re: Wheel Spacers - Good thing?

Agree wheel spacers are not a good product to use. If using spacers only use high quality forged alu. Do not use cast Alu or cheap forged. Also when using spacers you need to regularly check wheel nut torque. Under high loads they will loosen. This is from experience using spacers. I was taught the above by professional racing engineers.

Swapped a 14 bolt in the rear and converted front to 8 lug. Looks even to me

Re: Wheel Spacers - Good thing?

It's amazing how much it improves the look, and no more people telling me my truck is crab walking. The only hassle was to have to remove the wheels after 100 miles to re-torque the adapter, but well worth it. Got over 1000 miles on it now.

Re: Wheel Spacers - Good thing?

Please allow me to ask a dumb question that somewhat pertains to this subject. My drivers side front wheel sticks out 1" further than the front passenger side. There's no spacers or adapters and the wheel appears to be the same width. Is my just screwed or is this because of the steering components on the driver's side?

BBJ - I think you have some issues with your axle. Especially given the info in your steering thread/posts.

Perhaps you can add some more pics to that thread and we can try to figure out what's going on?

Measure the distance from the inside of the front tire to the side of the frame. If the measurements are the same, then this will rule out the axle being shifted to one side. I would then look at the front sheet metal being off location. (rotted/broken body mounts or rad support.)

Re: Wheel Spacers - Good thing?

I'm getting used to asking dumb questions on here. so.... how do 1.25" spacer/adapters make up for a 3"-4" difference? I don't want to order them and they still not match the front.

I assume this is what I want? 2 Chevy Truck 6x5.5 Wheel Spacers 7/16 Thread | For 1967-1991 1/2 Ton Trucks

Thanks

Re: Wheel Spacers - Good thing?

I figured that. 1.25" x 2 doesn't equal 4" I should have asked more clearly.

Re: Wheel Spacers - Good thing?

It’s probably to just get it more in line and not use too thick of a spacer.

Re: Wheel Spacers - Good thing?

Thanks, I ordered 1.5" from wheeladaptersusa. If they are too thick I will give them to my wife for Christmas to use as a trivet, then order some 1.25" ones.

Re: Wheel Spacers - Good thing?

What size are the studs on the adapters? I’m thinking of putting in 1/2” studs on the rear.
