Re: Best valve seals

Way too many variables here.

What heads are on the engine?
What engine?
Intended usage?
Power adders like turbo or supercharger?

Re: Best valve seals

I always use Umbrella type if there is enough room for them.

Alot depends on application.

Re: Best valve seals

My machinist switched me from the stock umbrella to a hardened guides, hardened valve stems, and perfect seal configuration. He said durability and oil control were better.

But you need the hardened guides and hardened valve stems if you go with the perfect seals. Otherwise you have premature wear because the perfect seals don't let anything through.
