Re: What kind of Music do YOU like ? Post it up, Please
I actually appreciate you giving it a chance Chevyland. That’s way more than most people do. And yeah you guessed right haha, I’m 22. The first few bands can be extremely hard to understand, they use a vocal technique called a guttural. I’m pretty good at doing them and have posted a few vocal covers online a few years ago, you actually don’t use your vocal chords, you use what’s called your false chords and you have to make them vibrate sideways. It took me forever to be able to do it. Once you realize that basically the vocals are an instrument themselves, you really see the talent in the genre.
I have a feeling you’ll like the Symphonic metal better. There really is some serious talent in that genre, some have full orchestras playing backup for them, and the singers are incredible. One that I left out that I should have posted is a band called Xandria, only their Neverworlds end album though, because it was the only album Manuela Kraller sang with them. She is insanely talented, very rarely do you hear someone with as much vocal range as her. Xandria https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0vLwWtSwNTI

Re: What kind of Music do YOU like ? Post it up, Please
Haha, yeah my truck is 27 years older than me, it’s the one in my picture Here’s a link to the welcome forum I posted:http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=746849
And my mom was born in 67, and my dad was born in 65. My mom grew up listening to country with her dad, the original country that is, Johnny cash, Waylon Jennings, stuff like that. I like Johnny Cash, but that’s it. But she got into some 80’s metal, Iron Maiden and stuff like that in the 80’s, and liked some grunge later. My dad has always liked southern rock and has always been a huge Lynard Skynard fan. I kind of went my own way in music, I first heard Demon Hunter when I was six and it just went from there. My mom will listen to a lot of stuff I do, but not really the slam and brutal stuff. And yeah I’d say Metallica was definitely an influence back then. And megadeath. But believe it or not there was actually a death metal band called Grave from Sweden formed in 1986. That’s really where it all began was in Sweden.

Re: What kind of Music do YOU like ? Post it up, Please
Thanks, I love it. It’s actually what I learned to drive manual in last summer, not many people from my generation can say that...Well most can’t say that they can drive manual at all hahaha. It always seems to get smiles and waves from the past generations when they see me out in it though. I’m going to take it to my first car show entry beginning of may.
And I’ll have to listen to that later, I live way out so I have satellite internet with limited usage unless it’s in between 2-8 am.

Re: What kind of Music do YOU like ? Post it up, Please
Back in 61 and 62 when I was four and five my dad used to take me to the Quail Canyon Inn near Morgan Hill, CA. This was before it was a biker bar. We lived even farther out in the sticks. Frank Rapero (owner) and my dad would play Liars Dice on the bar while I sat in one of the booths listening to their juke box and watching the local gentry get drunk. His wife Louise (red hair, 50's style) would inventively come on all painted up with lipstick that extended past her lips and make a big deal about me being cute and grab my face and put lipstick all over it from her lips, man that freaked me out at that age. She'd give me a Squirt drink in a bottle and I'd listen to Eddie Arnold sing Cattle Call, every once in a while someone would play the Beatles Love Me Do, Frank didnt like it.

Anyone into metal? Check out Leo Moracchiolo. He does a boat of metalized remakes and it's a riot to watch and list too.

And that’s cool, the folk music roots go so far back here it’s crazy. I’m sure it’s like that in Virginia some places too.
