Talking 1972 GMC C20 2wd to 1967 GMC K20 4x4 frame swap

guys, Im kinda new to the forum, but even tho Ive had my account for awhile now, but anyway, I got a 1972 C20 2wd that I"m currently restoring with my dad, with a SBC 350 with only 60,000 ORIGINAL MILES ON IT, 4 speed trans., 4.11 gears in the rear diff., dual Heartthrob glasspack exhaust, and the gas tank was removed from behind the seat and moved under the bed where the spare tire used to be on the truck. The truck was an old farm truck and it was a mom and pop truck that they used around the farm to pull old farm equipment, hay bales, and misc. stuff in the bed, and drove into town to get stuff for the farm and what not, but I found a 1967 K20 on Craigslist for sale near me, http://racine.craigslist.org/cto/3324863291.html . My plans are taking the body of my 72 C20 and SWAPPING it on the 67 K20 frame. Now is there gonna be any problems with this swap from anybody's previous or current experience? Is there gonna be any major cutting involved? A lot of input would be appreciated guys and just to fill you guys in on me, I'm in my sophomore year of college @ our local community college and my major is Automotive Technology. After college, I plan on workin for a couple of years (collect some $$ for school, once again ) then goin to a Diesel Tech school (hopefully Cummins Diesel) with my buddy after he's done with his 4 years in the Air-force. Then after that, I'd like to drop in a 1st gen 12v Cummins in my truck after I graduate form the Diesel Tech school. SO YOUR INPUT IS VERY VALUABLE AND HELPFUL GUYS, MY DAD AND I ARE JUST YOUR BASIC SHAD TREE MECHANICS BUT NOT AFRAID TO START SOMETHING NEW AND JUST TAKE OUR TIME AND TRIPLE MEASURE THINGS AND CUT ONCE , THANKS GUYS, CANT WAIT TO HEAR YOUR INPUT ON THIS FATHER, SON SWAP!!

Re: 1972 GMC C20 2wd to 1967 GMC K20 4x4 frame swap

Note: You have a C2500 and a K2500, four eyes number differently than our Chevy brethren.

There shouldn't be much of a problem with the body swap. I would personally keep the 67 front end and rock it. (Fenders, grills, and hood interchange 67-72 for GMCs except marker lights).

As for Cummins conversions, many of us have done them and it's not too bad. I love mine! Make sure to put up a build thread no matter what you decide to do.
