Speedometer Cable

I'll be replacing my speedometer cable this week - as I ran over it backing out of the garage. DUH, I forgot it was hanging down - no good deed goes un punished......

http://www.classicparts.com/1947-72-.../#.VwEPzY-cGUk

This is one that is offered,

Re: Speedometer Cable

I forgot to add - are these generic or are they a direct replacement.

Re: Speedometer Cable

I looked at the 3spd and 4spd cable listing in the parts book. They give me the same cable for both applications. The code your looking for is CC17. Had many applications over the years, both car and truck. 58 5/8" cable length.
The Classic Parts cable says it's 72".
Even though you ran over your original can you still measure to find the length assuming it is original?

If you Ebay search CC17

Re: Speedometer Cable

68 5/8" for the Hydromatic.
CC1 a a cable number.
So Classic Industries would be a little long but not the end of the world.

Re: Speedometer Cable

I may have to live with a longer one as long as it works but I'll measure mine.
