Re: $900 truck in Sacramento area- not mine

In my opinion if I were you I would not pay the full 900 for a couple of reasons.
- it is a long bed and long beds are worth less
- it may or may not run
- you don't know if all of the wiring works because he said its not all hooked up
- you don't know if the ac or heater works because it is not hooked up
- it's a gmc (worth less)
- it's 3/4 ton not 1/2 (again worth less)(the mirrors tell you this)

Honestly it would pay maybe 500 probably less simply because it looks like it has a good body and it is an air cab in general. I say this because there are just to many uncertainties and things that decrease the value. He says it ran and everything worked but you don't know that and if he says just a few things need hooked up why not do it himself and increase the value? But in the end it's worth what you will pay. I would want it for cheaper than 900 because I would not only clean it up but I would most likely convert it to a short bed so if it's worth the 900 to you then I'd pay it. I hope this helps you make a decision

Way to insult half of the members on here.

I'm not sure how you figure it's all worthless but there is a lot of guys on here that would love a truck in this condition. If it was local to me, I would probably own it already.

I think it's worth $900. It looks like a good start on a project.

And any vehicle (or anything else) is worth exactly what someone is willing to pay for it.

I'm sorry if I offended anybody. I didn't mean to say anything bad against anyone and I understand now that I did. Next time I will keep my opinion to myself.

And I was just saying what I thought price wise not anything against the truck or the trucks themselves. I myself would drive a gmc, a long bed, or. 3/4 ton.

Re: $900 truck in Sacramento area- not mine

so if it has camper mirrors that makes it a 3/4 ton I guess we all got an education...there must be an over abundance of straight air cab trucks in Kansas if this isn't worth 900

Exclamation Re: $900 truck in Sacramento area- not mine

Wow...That's a whole lotta truck love for $900 (Obo!)...I don't care who you are, what you like, or if you want to convert it to a shortbed, if it's as rust free as it looks it's a smokin' deal!

As always, opinions may vary...that is fine and expected. But when the thread descends into name calling, cussing, and a pissing match, it gets locked. I have already cleaned up the crap once in this thread. I had to lock an earlier thread due to truck bashing. This thread has so far not gone in that direction, however it is borderline on bashing another member. NO more cussing, name calling, etc. or infractions will be issued.

Re: $900 truck in Sacramento area- not mine

Wow! not bad at all in my book. I got a long bed and it rides comfy, not sure how a 3/4 ton rides, maybe stiffer since its a 3/4 ton. We call em' stump pullers. I'd offer him $600 and maybe met in the middle of his asking price of $900 since it doesn't run & can't hear it run or test drive it. It looks to be a great starter project truck. I forgive Dillon64, I heard it at first when I bought my long bed too, not that they are "worthless" but are worth less cash, To put it as it should have been said. And that was a feather in my cap because I got me one now with little cash. To some the long beds just aren't as desirable as a short beds are to some". yea, but nowdays some short bed trucks are about 10 times more expensive too. In like all classic trucks & car markets it's what you want & what you can afford can be worlds apart. Just get what you can afford and enjoy the journey. I have so far...

For $900.00 that looks like a great start.

If that GMC was closer to the Mid-Atlantic area, I would have snatched that one up in a heartbeat. Good start and a GMC 3/4 long bed to boot.

Re: $900 truck in Sacramento area- not mine

I'd be ALL over that if it were in Kansas. Don't know where the guy in Augusta is finding rust free trucks in Kansas for $900 or less but, I need a hook up! I pay 300-1000 for any truck down here running or not regardless of condition. That's a super nice GMC, and a super solid body for someone to start a project on. Plus, EVERYONE and their brother has a swb now. Dare to be different and get a lwb.

So who ever posted this ad on craigslist didn't leave any of his or her contact info so getting a hold of this person is darn near impossible. The good news I have an address, bad news is I live 7 hours away.

Re: $900 truck in Sacramento area- not mine

in my area any 67-72 gm trucks under a $1000 are a steal, especially with a body like that.
I love GMCs
I'd take a longbed over a shortbed any day
I also wish i had 3/4ton over a 1/2

Worth It to me , wish It was near me, I would think It sell's fast. Good buy for sure hope it does not turn into a parts truck. Long beds way cool, I'm sure my two shorties understand.

No harm in voicing your opinion. Just try to be more tactful next time. A truck in this good of shape, running or not, in the Midwest would easily fetch more than $900 based on the condition of the body. Nice find. I'm surprised it's still for sale, especially considering it's a California truck.

Re: $900 truck in Sacramento area- not mine

I think he was being somewhat tactful, I think there was a miss understanding between the WORD "worthless" and the two words he was using "worth less". Historically speaking, longbeds, GMC's and 3/4tons are worth less money than the alternative. However, I still think $900 is a steal for this thing, and only 3hrs north of me...hmm...
