My 66 Project w/pics

Last year I had aquired a local Atlanta born and raised 1966 C10 Longbed / Fleetside. Factory 250-6, 3 on the tree, basic truck. 56,000 documented miles. She has a couple bruises and minor rust, which I have addressed. Interior is in very good shape, exterior isn't as lucky. She appears to have spent most of her life outside in the HOT-lanta sun.

Good news, the previous owner replaced most of the front end suspension and steering parts with new, as well as the brakes, clutch, etc. All tuned up and the truck runs/drives like a million bucks.

In order to save time, money, etc., I have elected to do the minor bodywork needed, as well as the paint. I put in two patch panels on the front fenders due to the softball size rust patch on each. There are still some very minor body imperfections (such as door dings) that I am not resolving. It's an older truck and I would rather it be an excellent driver and "20 footer" than to spend countless hours/days/weeks/months/years, getting it perfect merely to be afraid of driving it.

paint will be single stage back to the factory colors (light green/white top). Painting her in my backyard....again, to save time and money.

Re: My 66 Project w/pics

The two tone was a pain in the rear simply because the white wasn't 100% dry when I started masking for the light green color. I was rushed because since I live in the south the weather folks were calling for rain tomorrow so it had to. Get done ASAP.

Yup. Painted outside in my backyard. Turned out OK, and pretty much what I expected. Looks a lot better than the old paint especially 10-20 feet away.

Keeping the 6 cylinder. I have a 1969 nova with a 406 if I wanna go fast.
Engine and interior pics to follow in a few days.
