Looks like a nice truck for the money. It is a 68 and 327 didn't have a 4 bolt main, but otherwise...

I think they hide. It is one thing to jump on here and say your looking for a nice truck. It is totally another to actually have money to buy one.

You might be right, but I know for a fact things also get bought off these ads and not mentioned in a timely manner. I would be all over that truck right now if I didn't already have 3 and an appointment in the morning to look at a 72 I have been chasing for a month.

If I get it, the next ad you might see on CL will be one of mine :-)

I haven't had one for two weeks and already thinking I will flip it. It was a C.L from a machine shop, totally gone through 1978 K20 Bonanza. They went through rear end, transfer case and TH350 with and complete engine receipts.

They even delivered it 3 hrs north of them for purchase price. I have $575 into as it sits.

Need to hook up power steering, drain 30 gallons of old nasty gas out of it , but lots of good deals on C.L. right now.

Re: 1967 GMC with Buddy Buckets on CL Seattle

Yep,that '67 looks an awful lot like a '68 . That 327 should be a 4-bolt large journal 010 block. I can't tell in the picture, but I think that's an aftermarket cruise control, although it was an option in '68 from the factory. That's an amazing deal. I suspect some flipper already snatched that up and scheming to better than double his money. Athough,it would be mice to think a person who truly loves a good truck got it for a steal.

Yep,another square body for cheap. That's a common sight. No disrespect to square bodies, but they are another ball game. This GMC is a highly optioned desirable year truck that is not commonly found and at a very reasonable price.

I get your point, but doesn't matter what they are, no jobs and everyone is dumping to fight another day.

Re: 1967 GMC with Buddy Buckets on CL Seattle

I have been out to look at the 68. It is not as nice as it appears. It does have some rust issues that need addressing and the owner backed it into something on the right rear. Dented it right in the hard spot to fix. It also needs a new core support, right fender, inner fenders, front floor supports, rockers, cab corners, floor sections and kick panels. The driver's side bucket seat is torn, and someone mounted the spair tank switch in the seat brackets. Also didn't hear it run. It is definetly a good cantidate for restoration, just not worth the dough IMO. WES

That is exactly why you don't buy them sight unseen, no matter how good they look in the pictures...

Yep, and Wes knows these trucks and what it takes to fix then as well as anyone on the board. Still we do see some decent prices on these trucks in the PNW as they are still being used daily by a lot of people who don't view them as "classics" and just feel that they are good solid old work trucks.

Re: 1967 GMC with Buddy Buckets on CL Seattle

I figured it had some rust repair needed, but that rear corner damage sucks. To an East Coaster a Super Custom '68 that decent is still worth the money + a bit for transporting back. I would want it a bit nicer to go through that, though, even if that meant the truck was twice as much to start with.

I did buy the 72 Custom today, mainly because I would rather put the time and money into that rather than a newer one and it is in excellent condition to drive as is once I put a different set of tires on it.

I am going to keep the other two for a couple weeks til I can do a compression check, isolate some numbers and get a good handle on anything I might need.
