Re: Finally cleaned up the barn find....

I have original hub caps and wheels with tires. The wheels are old school Ansen Sprints, The original owner got them the day he bought the truck.
It cost 5 s

Our trucks never came with head rest as far I know. I could be wrong and let other chime in. By the way...that is a very special truck. I think your price of 5 's was a very good deal for a truck. Although if it was me I would not have paid more tham 5 's for it.

Re: Finally cleaned up the barn find....

The truck only has 74k miles on it. It was a sunshine only truck. I was going to lower it and tweak it a little. After reading many of this websites stories, I can not in good conscience hack up this survivor.. I am going clean / restore and drive the wheels off it. Nothing like a big block 4 speed posi. She really hums..

Re: Finally cleaned up the barn find....

I am the one that posted her late last year... I only now had the time to clean her up a bit.. My mom had a hip replacement and my dad had 3 bypasses with a new valve.... both are doing very well now...I can start doing some more work to it ...Yes I did get it in North Jersey, and this truck was called sunshine.....It RARELY ever saw bad weather. It was a AQHA Directors truck.. It pulled show Horses and was never outside the barn or garage...I will show some history photos later with the horse trailer , at shows etc.

Re: Finally cleaned up the barn find....

Those wheels can be cleaned up. American Racing is making the Ansen Sprint wheels, now. I priced some for my '96, but didn't commit to buying them.

But a good wheel polisher, like the kit that Sherwin-Williams sells which is like the one that Eastwood sells (but $20 cheaper), needs an air compressor and your time. But you can clean up those wheels and make 'em shine like new money.

Re: Finally cleaned up the barn find....

Looking at the spid label and pics I was wonderuing why someone would order a CST truck buckets, a big block and granny 4 speed then you mentioned the original owner pulled a horse trailer and it all made sense.

Nice find. Just goes to show all of us that there are still 67/72's stashed away waiting to be found and enjoyed.

Wink Re: Finally cleaned up the barn find....

This is the scoop. This truck was the Past Presidents' of the NJ AQHA ,
The group in the picture has 2 NJ AQHA Directors and the President of the US AQHA probably took the picture. The Horses names were Isleaway, Cas Bar and Brassy Bar , Later named Brassy Bea for His wife Bea...the group would go all over the country and Show Horses. It was called the sunshine truck.. it never saw bad weather...and it was always inside..I am trying to get more vintage pics.
