Removed the PO's old school Grant steering wheel and replaced it with a decent used '65 Impala SS wheel. Still looking at different horn caps that will work.

Getting pretty anxious to start installing parts. Boxes continue to pile up in the garage, but I still need to order the shocks before I can get this thing down where it belongs. I'm thinking I'll probably go with a set of QA-1's Thurs morning.
Replaced the old school B&M shifter tonight with a Lokar kit with a 23" shift handle for the Turbo 400. Filled in a couple of the holes from the old shifter and may run without a boot for a little while. I'm kind of liking how this looks; it goes with the theme for now.. And I think it's time to upgrade digital camera's. These Blackberry pics are crap. |

Picked up my new headers (Hooker, part # HOK-2466HKR from Summit) today from West Coast Specialty Coatings in Concord. I went with the ceramic coating in flat black. |

Like the look of the LOKAR!!! How does it shift? I mean the feel, smooth light butter or hard shifting?
Looking to do the same in my 61 when I get the 350 in it... Build is Looking good...can't wait till I get boxes like that building up for my build el_bole |

I ended up going with a set of '73+ Blazer 4WD 15x6 steel wheels. MAAS Brothers in Livermore blasted the set and powdercoated them in gloss black for $50/ wheel. I'm running 235/75/15 American Classic 1.6" whitewalls with spider rings and bullet lugs and locks from Rally America in Fresno.

After waiting 2+ months for shocks from No Limit, I finally cancelled the order and called ECE. I literally had shocks the next day.
Had some time this last weekend to dump the rear. This is 4" but I'll be ordering 5" spings next week. It's just not quite low enough for what I'm after. |

Oh Yeah! looking good man. Did you have to do modifications to make that impala steering wheel fit?? I been looking at these at local swap meets for around 25 bucks and thinking about getting me one also. What kind of center cap are you going to use??
