can someone explain this to me please
Ok so im sitting here looking at this and i just cant understand this design most air cleaners always have the nut outside so that you cant vibrate the nut off and go down the carb and intake and make nightmares! so please can you tell me how one would use this safely without blowing up the engine by the mounting nut dropping down the carb if it is inside with the carb? here is the link please take a look at the pics and help me understand this thank you. https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Speed...eaner,699.html

Thread locker.
Personally I would avoid foam filters, as they do not last or filter dirt like paper or K&N types. Plus if you back fire they burn much easier. |

Doesn't really answer your question, but I wouldn't buy an air filter without watching this: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x693421

Re: can someone explain this to me please
Replace the nut with an oversize wing nut that can’t get past the carb boosters.

Re: can someone explain this to me please
After setting the hieght you could thread lock it, double nut, or mar the thread. I would think that a cold chisel down 2 or 3 threads above the nut would stop it from backing off. I never had luck with center punching the nut or drilling it.

Re: can someone explain this to me please
The cover screws down over that nut onto the stud. The cover would have to completely come off before that nut could begin to spin it's way up. If you're still nervous, nothing beats a good cross-thread?
