Yall are gonna love this - Tesla CYBERTRUCK

I'm sorry, I'd absolutely buy a hybrid truck, I'd love that much up-front torque. But this all-electric beast is ugly AF, a real WTF here. I'm guessing this is a prototype only and the end result won't look like this? Looks like something military circa year 2050 or something!

https://www.tesla.com/cybertruck

PS: Scroll down the page at the website for actual video of it moving and pics and stuff. Comes in a 3-motor AWD too?!

This is what happens when little johnny who had transformers as a child spends 6 years in a 4 year college and then gets a job as a truck designer , He still lives in his mothers basement screaming for meat loaf and has never lived anywhere without concrete under his feet . I just wanna watch when that thing gets stuck in the mud and a bunch of rednecks think it's an alien attack and use it for target practice . Does it come with $1,000.00 twisted tow hooks standard ?

Re: Yall are gonna love this - Tesla CYBERTRUCK

Chevy had a hybrid truck, and while fine for driving around. Supposedly was down right weak when towing. Since the electric motor could potentially cook itself. I do not know this for a fact, but I did do side work for a few horse people. Who were asking me about diesels because I am a car person, and they brought it up as part of the conversation.

Also the hybrid only works in the city, and really did nothing for highway. Plus reduces vehicle weight capacity. While that may not mean enough to you it could be a deal breaker for others.

But more to the point I do not think a futuristic looking vehicle is what truck buyers are really looking for. I personally didn't but the Colorado since they made a C10 sized truck feel smaller then a S10. Since I did get a 18 Silverado it is one hell of a performing truck even with the base 6 gun. They would have to meet base 6 gun performance if you want to steal full size sales or any sales. Then give it a conventional layout. The I pad looking dash was epically cheap looking on there normal cars. Most people prefer knob, and dials to get ac or heat to work.

I get it people like insanely complicated dashes with interactive heat features, but most people do not. So if you angle at digital crowd your going to alienate the vast majority of truck buyers.

Although the return to the van/pick up layout is neat, and I am thinking I may do this to my G10 Van. Since I have to much rust to fix, and I am wanting to try to stretch my talent. The layout gives more bed per length of vehicle, but it is way to futuristic for me.

If I could get deported to the mid-60's I would be happy.

L.O.L. @ Tesla, hahahahaha!!!

Love the intro video where they demonstrate the "armored glass" and break 2 windows - then watching Elon try and keep telling about how awesome it is while looking over his shoulder being distracted by the 2 big white oopsies.

Edit: Tesla shares fell 4$ after the big whooptie-doo rollout, heh.

Yeah, I don't have a choice at the moment. It's basically live in the city or lose 1-2 hours on the highway every day I could instead be spending with my family. And for that reason, hybrid truck would be fine for me.

Talk about feeling alienated and size, that's where I'm at. I had to go back to 2006 models just to get a truck with a V8 that isn't so big my kids can't easily climb into it and I'm not having to shoehorn it into the average parking lot in this town. Trucks these days make the 1st gen Colorado look like a tiny lil Isuzu Pup / Chevy Luv, it's damn ludicrous!

YES, I want a competent truck with a V8! No, I DO NOT want it to have the body the size of a Humvee! Automakers just need to get their heads out of their collective asses! Why can't we go back to 1960-1972 styling and sizes, but with modern convenience and safety?!

I just bought the 20 volt version of this dewalt and I love it for small stuff. I went with 20 since the rest of my setup is 20 so it gave me about 10 battery lineup.

Shifty, my 18 Silverado 1500 WT is taller then my friends leveled 07 F150. The cherry on top is I lowered it 2/4 so I didn't have to jump in, and could reach the bed floor over the side.

I didn't watch the video. I'd have to be slightly interested or a little curious to want to do that. That, and I can't stand listening to "Mr. Design the world around my vision of it"

Which is why I'm growingly disappointed. The first time I ever saw the '04-08 F150s, I was "damn, that's tall".

then the '09-14 trucks came out and I was, like, "uh, ok wtf?" and by then, everyone was doing it.

I feel like Dodge might've started it with the 3rd gen Dodge Ram, '02-09. GM didn't start until '07.

I complained about this in the Rivian truck thread also. Like, good example, just look at the difference between the 2018 and 2019 Silverado, seriously? This crap needs to stop, give me a truck the size of the last S10 or a Tacoma with a V8 and gtfo my way, not this BS:

But here are some from the Rivian thread:

I mean, I will say this though ... sometimes we need people like that to either A) make us shake our heads and go back to being happy with what we have and/or had, or B) for them to inspire other ideas in people, either similar, or radically different, for the betterment of the future.

I honestly can't stand listening to him, but some of the stuff he's come up with - like the tunnel boring machine - are really damn innovative.

I think this cybertruck crap really missed the mark, though. If I had to choose between this and the Rivian, I think I'd be aiming for the Rivian. But I'd still rather have something half the size with a V8 in it.
