inlinetube.com

I need to buy a complete new fuel line for my 71 CST K5 (350 w/manual tranny). I'm going to buy from inlinetube.com. They list both 5/16" and 3/8" lines as options. Does anyone know what size mine would have? Normally I'd go out and measure, but the truck is an hour away at my brother's garage, and I need to order this tomorrow. Any info is appreciated. I'm also buying a complete stainless steel brake line from the same company. Anybody dealt with them before?
Is stainless worth the extra money? And lastly, is it worth buying the exact fitted lines rather than buying tube and bending it yourself?
Thanks alot.
-Tim

I have read that the trucks with 4 barrel carbs use the 3/8" line.

Just got a set of braided SS flex lines from them-extra nice. You should order the 3/8. Unless you have tube benders order the prebent (also it will have the sprial wrap on it like the factory. As to steel or SS if you are going for looks the SS will be better but remember the stock lasted for 33 years. Hope you get yours sooner than I did(not Inline Tube's fault). Went from Pontiac, Mi to To.,Ohio to Nashville, Tn. to Portland, Org. to Fort Worth. Texas back to Nashville then to Knoxville, Tn. Whew !! only took 2 weeks (FedEx).

Thanks for the info. Are you sure I need the 3/8"? Someone else on the board told me that the 5/16" is for the 2bbl carbs, and the 3/8 for the 4bbl. I already ordered the 5/16. Did I get the wrong one?

5/16 will work just fine for your needs . 3/8 would be a little insurance if you was going high horsepower.

My whole fuel system is 3/8 stainless braided hose. A bit pricey, but easier to work with. Local shops can crimp the proper ends on to use fittings. It has a lot of give and take in the weeds, and looks great. I'm looking into doing the brakes that way too, at least from the fram to the axles, if not everything.
