1969 Chevy cst/10 396

Hey,so I just bought this truck a couple days back for a decent price.. I think lol. She's been good to me so far, and now I just want to verify and see if this is really the original 396 that the truck came with from the factory. I haven't seen many 69 cst/10's with 396's. The truck has a bench seat, no a/c and no in dash tach. It has the original radio in working order, but the previous owner removed it. It's a long box. 4 wheel drive. 8stud rims. Bit of a lift. hope the pics work lol. The engine codes/stamps I think say:

Ti0225dh 6k1139732 passenger side head
3855961 back driver side block

I am sure that the mark near the top of the bell housing is correct.
Thanks, Reece

Re: 1969 Chevy cst/10 396

No big blocks were available in 4x4s, so either the engine isn't correct or it was made into a 4x4. See what the spid on the glove box door reads.
Also, a cst/10 would have 6 lug rims.
Nice looking truck...

The VIN tag is CE so it was born as a two wheel drive.

Hey reece9944 ,,,

to the forums and from Ohio.

as this is a looking truck.

If you got it a decent price and you like it ...then that's what really counts. Looks like a solid truck from the pictures.

I agree with what was posted above, but if you like it that's all that matters.

Re: 1969 Chevy cst/10 396

Thanks for the replies. I'm assuming that it was a 2wd dropped onto a 4x4 frame. How can I tell if the motor is the one that came with the truck? And I have no Idea on the value of these trucks either. Any idea what it is worth?

Thanks,Reece

Re: 1969 Chevy cst/10 396

If your truck came with a 396 it would be listed on the SPID. The numbers and letters on the small pad in front of the passenger side head would help let you know what engine you have and the year.
