Lowering and disc brake conversion

I am wanting to lower my 1970 swb, and while I am doing it I figure I ought to go ahead and upgrade to front discs and 5 bolt.

I am wondering what the best kit out there right now would be. A year ago if I asked this question everyone would have said ECE, but now I just don't know which company to go to.

Looking for both springs and spindle to get at least a 4" drop in the front. My rear is coils so I should probably be able to achieve the 5" drop there with just shorter ones.

Re: Lowering and disc brake conversion

I ordered these two kits off eBay from Performance Online. Everything bolted up great

Re: Lowering and disc brake conversion

Are you going stock rotors or big brake rotors?
Good drop spindle like belltech 73 87
Parts store rotors calipers bearings

I have been looking at mcgaughys
2.5 inch drop spindle with 4 rear drop coils

I am getting a 71 72 chassis i will still go with the 73 up spindles as the newer style tie rods are cheaper to replace then a two year run for the stock setup and bigger then the 67 7o setup
You will have to go with the ball joints of the style of spindle you use

And i am setup to go lower latter on if i want to lower more add 1.5 front lower spring and a 1 inch block in the rear

The one thing i am leary of is bearings in kits i like timkin skf
I alwsys wonder how cheap the bearings are

Re: Lowering and disc brake conversion

The other considerations are how new your tie rods and ball joints are
