Lm7 power steering pump swap

70 1/2 ton- lm7 transplanted in.
Questions about the power steering set up:

What are the thread end sizes for the pressure and return hose of the lm7 pump?

Will a mid 80’s P/S pump bolt onto the lm7 mounting bracket?

I was thinking of using the 80’s pump on the lm7 bracket. The lines will be the same ends (theoretically anyway).

I’ve heard of changing the valve guts on pumps, but will I have to modify the lm7 pump to remove the 3rd line?

Thanks for the help.

Re: Lm7 power steering pump swap

What steering box do you have? Somewhere around 1980 GM went metric. I have a 78 steering box with an 80's pump that was metric but I was able to swap the fitting for the high pressure hose from an older pump so now I'm all SAE / inches. The LM7 is most likely metric

Re: Lm7 power steering pump swap

My 81 power steering lines fit the Ls pump....had to tweak the bends a little, but both are metric..not sure of the exact size..
I dont think a 80s pump will fit the LS bracket..
When you say 3rd line are you referring to a hydroboost pump return line ?..if so, just cap it off if not needed
