Check out the last post on my thread that started the issue for me. I hope you find it helpful.

Re: Is this the new normal for parts.....ie Vortec dist. cap

Update on my woes.

It's definitely the cap and rotor, I ordered a cheap distributor off evilbay and it ran ok for about 20 miles and the stumbling and bucking came back with a vengeance.
Seemed to be worse at light throttle.
So I took the a wire wheel to the contacts on the old Standard cap and rotor I had from the old distributor and put it on the chinese distributor, stumbling is gone, actually goes down the road pretty good now.

Update, ran great for 1 day, back to sputtering and stumbling really bad now.
Just ordered a UNITED MOTOR PRODUCTS DCR820X with brass contacts, hope that's the cure because I will list this piece of poop for sale now that I got a Dmax this morning and the beauty of a Diesel...... no spark plugs

Legendman, do you have any check engine lights? When I had this issue, it showed P1345. When I corrected that issue, not more problems with the current cap and rotor I was running.

I did right after I put the new distro in but I got the timing right and the check engine light is out.
