Rob, can you give us some more photos of the interior.
What size tires are you running and can you give me the measurment from the center of the wheel well to the ground. Did you move the rear end back to center in the fender, if so how much. what suspension do you have in the rear, and which axle (width)
You have a very nice completed truck...................my goals...soon.
Thanks

Same steering wheel, same seats, flames are almost exactly the same. Mine were just red and gray.

Number 1 question, when you gonna paint it. 49 Original frame, 77 c-10 IFS, Centerline wheels, 350/350 turbo. Don't know what seats are. Replaced hacked firewall and dash. Did all work.

Re: Post Your Ride 47-55 Trucks

My '54 GMC.
History:
My dad bought it in '64, it came home with a broken crankshaft, he got it running after a lot of looking for parts, then the water pump failed, and he parked the truck and bought a new car.
The truck was an original 4 speed automatic, which means that the engine had a one of kind crankshaft, the transmission was one of a kind (very few built, and in '84, I could only find one person who knew how to work on it). The drive shaft was a torque tube. Bottom line a cool truck, but hard to work on and get parts.
I got the truck in '84, worked on it in the '80's, '90's and early 2000's, every time I get some money together for the next step, the family needs would come up and I would stop.
Finally retired (for the first time) in 2012, and my wife said get it done. I found Suncoast Speed and Custom in Tarpon Springs http://www.sscustomcars.com/ to finish the project. Now I am driving it.
Details of the build:
Mustang II front suspension with Granada rotors, frame boxed forward of the firewall. Ford 9" in the rear, currently a 3.23, considering a change to 3.56 or 3.73 later this year when it gets the limited slip.
ZZ4 SBC with fast burn heads, roller cam and rockers, Edelbrock EFI PRO FLO 3500, final approximately 400 Hp and 400 lbs-ft of torque.
Headers and exhaust system are custom bent SS from Richards Performance Mufflers in Oceanside Ca. http://www.rpmmuffler.com/
TH400 trans with a Gear Vendors two speed Overdrive behind that.
Speedhut gauges (all electronic with alarm lights for high and low, GPS for speed etc).
Vintage air A/C and front runner belt system.
The seat is from Glide Engineering.
Bottom line: This truck is a 61 year old truck and has been a 50 year project, as it finally got back on the road in 2014.

I built this truck 10 years ago and it is still on the road daily, 65K on the clock
