Air Vents

Been looking through past post's on anything on "how to" clean the air vents from the "old" and dirty smell? My 79C-10 is from a past smoker ( a heavy one)

Any tips?
Thanks

Re: Air Vents

Removal and cleaning of the vent tubes is all I know, but I've only done that on a 70, not your body style.
I spent a year cleaning my old 95 GMC to get the smoke out and off the windows. SOBs shouldn't smoke inside!

Re: Air Vents

I know my uncle has told me you can out deodorant in the coils, but I have no clue how you do this. He's a mechanic.

Is yer truck just a plain Jane, or it's got the A/C? If it's a base level you only need to pull the glove box and you can reach everything in the HVAC, relacing my heater core (involves taking ducting out) took less than an hour and that's with me cleaning the ducts and air doors.

Re: Air Vents

ya, My C10 is just bone azz stock no a/c just a heater and the 2/60 a/c with the wing windows open. I member seeing something on one of those hot rod shows about a spary foam that can be sprayed into the vents to clean them out.

Re: Air Vents

Yeah Ive heard of that spray stuff, I think they use it at car dealerships on trade-ins. Find yourself someone willing to talk at a dealership and get the lowdown.
