disc conversion

Hvae been looking at disc conversion for 1969 Panel truck. Noticing most say they are same thru 1987. I take that to mean .If I find a set off of any of those years it will bolt on. Correct or am I missing something?

Re: disc conversion

I've read that at least half ton front crossmembers can be swapped from 71 to some year as a way to get front disks. Don't forget the master cylinder and prop valve.

Re: disc conversion

The spindles have different tapers for the ball joints and tie rod ends. 63-70, 71-72, and 73-87 is the differences. Ball joints for all three tapers fit in stock 63-72 and 73-87 arms. Difference in arms is at the control arm bushings. Steel for 63-72, rubber for 73-87.

I’m using 73-87 ball joints in stock 63 control arms on my 63’s disc conversion
