I use to think that too but Ochre kinda grows on you. I've owned two 71 Chevy trucks and both were that color. It was the last color I would have chosen if I had a choice. When I painted mine, I could have done it any color under the rainbow but I still used the original Ochre. I absolutely love it!

I could not stand Ochre trucks until I owned one, it really grows on you quickly. We used to call 'em baby**** yellow.

They sure sold a bunch of Ochre trucks that's for sure. One of those 70's deals - a little makes it look a lot better.

Nice truck!!! The chevrolet tailgate band has plastic painted letters instead of chrome letters, so it has been replaced at some point.

The 72 solenoid only has one wire, and the vacuum hoses don't come out parallel IIRC.

Good to know. I was hoping the tailgate band was original. Anyone out there have any pictures of the real deal? I love to see it.

More than likely your is the "real deal", It looks like GM. Sometime after 1972, GM replaced the metal letters with with the plastic ones on the replacement parts.

You can guy chrome letters and change them if you want it to look more original.
