4x4 trivia quiz
OK all you vintage 4x4 folks. What is this running gear out of? This isn't my project but I going to be following it. I saw one of these when I was little and thought it was the coolest truck in the world then and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get the parents to get one.
Good luck (I know this would be better if I had some fabulous prize to offer. )

Re: 4x4 trivia quiz
Good guesses all and the Wagoneer is close but too new and smaller. There is a Wagoneer in the shop now for restoration, but I don't know what direction the owner is going on it. The subject of the post is going to get a diesel conversion. Should be Cool!
Check out the vintage bumper sticker.

Re: 4x4 trivia quiz
So is it the predecessor to the Wagoneer maybe? A Willys Jeep Station Wagon?

Re: 4x4 trivia quiz
Going by the angle of the input shaft of the steering box, I'm guessing some sort of cab-over-engine. The gearshift rods going forward also indicate a COE. I had a '52 Plymouth as my first car and the engine looks similar, but Pontiac also had a flathead six, as no doubt did other manufacturers of the time. When you decide on a prize, make sure you can afford to send it below the equator.

Re: 4x4 trivia quiz
Very good Aussie John! It is a COE. The prize committee is still working on the reward.
