Hubcap Center-Paint Code or Color

Recently at a swap meet I ran across a couple hubcaps for early 60s Chevrolet truck hubcaps. I have a 71 Chevy 4x4 but like a lot of the older trucks. Struck up a conversation with the vendor who said the hubcaps were untouched originals but to me the Chevy Bowtie was obvious repaint. The color looked "off" to my untrained eye. Seemed to be a strong orange color, thinking it would be more of a reddish/orange color back then but not sure what Chevrolet called the color or shade? Any one have an idea or can help, curious since the vendor insisted the orange coloring was original.

That center color started out orangy red. Then with age fade it goes totally orange. I have some 100% untouched originals, both used and NOS, and simple comparison shows the color does fade to orange.
Check out the two following threads for examples of originals, and a close match for center color.

oem4me, Thanks for the reply and the links. That is some serious hubcap education and information there. Really an in-depth study for sure.

I guess after 60 years of use, sun exposure and such not hard to imagine the paint fade situation.
