nope - I mean I've never seen it, doesn't mean it hasn't been done. You could look at some old El Camino pics for inspiration - roughly the same body color availability - could look at their black/white vinyl roof pics.

I don't have any pictures of the top ON the truck, but I do have pictures of the aftermath.

Short answer is that it does look pretty cool (in a mid to late 70s way - mine had a vinyl rooftop, sidepipes, chrome reverse cragars with baby moons, and curb feelers when my parents bought it 35 years ago.)

But I also know that you have got to be careful and make sure that the top is installed correctly and that you maintain it the right way or the glue will cause the outer roof skin to rust away to nothing. I can take some pictures of the aftermath for you if you want me to.

GM dealers did a spray-on treatment meant to look like a vinyl top, back in the late Sixties/early Seventies. It looked cheesy then, and it looks worse today.

Re: has anyone put a vinyl top on a truck?

Looks to me that one could use a spray or roll on bedliner kit to achieve a vinyl looking top. May have to put something on it to cut the shine a bit. Not my thing but the stuff is being used more and more. I saw a 'yota 4wd last weekend with the lower body panels coated in it all the way around and painted a contrasting color to the upper body. In that application I can see the purpose as it will resist rock chips better. My wife mentioned seeing a truck completely covered in the bedliner material. To each his own I guess.

Run around conway, and you'll see a new quad cab gmc lifted 4x4 that's completely rhino lined

Re: has anyone put a vinyl top on a truck?

I've seen rhino/line-x sprayed Jeeps, hunting rigs, and rockcrawlers (on the entire body of the vehicle - inside and out if it's a soft top or hunting rig) in every color/finish combo.

I've also seen Rhino/Line-X sprayed rocker panels in body color, contrast color, or basic black.

I hadn't thought of do that to the cab of the Chevy... Wonder what the sound deadening/insulation properties would be. Also have to wonder about doing this in place of undercoating.
