Having an all aluminum engine and many aluminum suspension components definitely paid off especially with your tube chassis. That weight is amazing for a street bound truck.

Great project. Keep it up.

Did you get the hood struts figured out? If you did which application worked?

If not the ones for a 91-92 Z/28 could be a good fit lift rate wise. The hoods are close to the same weight as our truck hoods in those years with the extra weight of the blister louver design they had. The earlier model years had lighter hoods if the 91-92 are too much. There was also a fiberglass hood on some 82-84 Z/28's as well with an even lighter rate if you need even less rate.

Thanks! I appreciate the kind comments! But yeah I think the chassis and all aluminum parts definitely helps. I did find lift supports to work, thanks for looking out though! after about 6-7 different sets we finally found some to work, we found the length we wanted and ended up going through a book at the parts store and started guessing weights to try, ended up with 150lbs a piece on them

I've been gone for a little bit, But we've been busy making some front inner fenders. Used part of the rusted out stocks and sheet metal on the rest

We started out we were going to chop the stock one's and make them work but it just wasn't going to look right. So this is what it turned into.
