Not mine 72 Cheyenne SWB 4x4 FS

Saw this on the local Albany, NY craigslist

If anyone was interested it looks like a decent rig, maybe a bit on the expensive side though

I think he is in Colfax. This thing has been for sale for about 8 months and has gone up thousands since first posted. Not sure the logic in raising the price.

Re: Not mine 72 Cheyenne SWB 4x4 FS

He has had a lot of things. There was a G30 4x4 ambulance van I wanted so bad...
He like many is probably doing little fix ups and also like many thinks his time and money adds 2 to 3x what he puts into it.

That guy's sitting on a gold mine. That looks like a great survivor with period equipment to boot! I'd pay that for it. I'd make an offer a bit lower, first,of course.

That's way more than I'd pay for it. But that doesn't mean someone's not willing to pay that.

I don't think you run across a 72 Cheyenne swb 4x4 with ac too often, especially one that hasn't been molested. I think there is quite a bit of value there, you know you're getting what it appears to be, not an assembled truck full of bondo and covered in cheap paint.

Re: Not mine 72 Cheyenne SWB 4x4 FS

Seeing it is a Cheyenne with A/C does anyone think the 4 speed manual restricts the market and hurts the value of the truck. Personaly I think he'd have more luck at the price he is asking if the truck were automatic.

Re: Not mine 72 Cheyenne SWB 4x4 FS

I feel pretty good about the 72 Cheyenne super 4x4 lwb I bought in TX a few years ago for $2500 - wasn't sure if I over paid at the time but I guess not. I know it's not a shorty but it does have factory air, buckets, tilt & AM/FM. It's a unmolested farm truck that needs a complete restoration- I'm collecting parts now.

Why would a Manual hurt the price ??

Re: Not mine 72 Cheyenne SWB 4x4 FS

I think a 4spd in a higher end truck sets it off as unique and desirable. Figure most Cheyennes were automatic,so a manual is more rare and makes a mix of tough with comfort and style. I have personally ordered fully loaded trucks with manual transmission and people are always surprised to see that stick shift. When going to sell them that was a plus. There are people who can only drive an automatic, but they aren't real car people, cuz if they were truly interested they'd learn how to drive
