gem in the woods

well i've been looking for a good starting base for a truck. found one the other day, in the woods!! it's a 69 c-10. no motor, the original block cracked from a lack of antifreeze. i'm looking for a donor motor. the truck comes with the protecto plate, original manual, invoice from the dealer.
i believe the orginal turbo 350 tranny is still there.

rockers are in decent shape, drivers door has a little rust

firewall is in good shape

Re: gem in the woods

i've got to wait a few weeks, till i can get it trailer'd home, to start working on. the plan is to get it up and running and then work on doing some stuff.
i'd like to drop the stance a few inches, eventually get some nice rim/tire combo...

Re: gem in the woods

Good truck to start as base. Your lucky to have one with no big rust issues.

i think its been sitting in the woods for a few years. the guy bought if from the original owner with plans to restore but got busy with life.
i don't think he even registered the truck, so i believe i'll be the 2 (maybe 3rd) registered owner

Re: gem in the woods

well after waiting almost 2 months for the truck home, i finally got it trailered home yesterday.

looks like the po changed out the stereo, i'm glad it wasn't a cut and hack job

the gun rack and headache rack are gonna be the first things to go

gun rack anyone?

figured the orginal seats would be all beat up since they were covered with seat covers, but underneath the covers, the orginal seat is in excellent shape
