Trans Cable Shifter Linkage
I picked up a Lokar cable shifter assembly 1804 for my truck. Finally got it installed and for the life of me could not get it to shift to all the gears. Had to remove it and go back to the rod style assembly which works great.
My reason for going to the cable as to eliminate the vibration in the column shift lever due to the idle quality of my motor. Figured the cable system would eliminate all vibration and movement when you accelerate. Has anyone got this working?

Re: Trans Cable Shifter Linkage
I considered the cable mounted shifter, but went with the Lokar ACA-1800 rod style. I've heard that the cable shifter wasn't as good as the hard rod style, but I don't have the experience to confirm that. I'm still trying to get mine dialed in on my 5.3L/4L60E swap. I can't get the rod style to shift in all gears. Seems like a lot of variables that can be adjusted like the clocking of the arm on the transmission, where to lock down the heim joint on the arm and position of the arm on the column. I guess I'll have to just keep trying different things. Good luck with yours.

Re: Trans Cable Shifter Linkage
No prob. I have mine working perfect with my 2004r 4 speed auto. I just was trying to get rid of the idle vibration in the shift lever. Guess I'll live with it.
