carb linkage needed for 250 6cyl

I have '67 inline 6 that is in a '35 Chevy pickup. I'm working out some bugs . One that bothers me most is carb linkage .I have decided to go to a pull cable instead of a push rod.
I need to know what years and model gm vehicle to look for. Here are a couple sample pics. The first picture has detent cable capabilities. I would prefer the style without as in the second picture........ Thanks in advance.

What is on my motor is a push rod through the board floor and snakes around the motor to a pivot bracket flipped around to push the carb open .

If a pull cable type will work, a pedal and cable from a square body truck may work...

I have the pedal assm. from a '72 I can make work for the firewall side of things . What I need is the engine side of the equation. Thanks Greg.

While I have since upgraded carbs etc., I used a lokar cable kit ($$$) and made a bracket from a T shaped 1/8" thick steel Simpson framing bracket I had laying around. Cut off one of the short legs, drilled a hole for the cable mount and screwed it into the firewall.

My only complaint is that the arm does not seem to pull the throttle open enough to full throttle. I am thinking I need a longer arm from like a Camaro or something.

Nate -- I used a Throttle Return Spring assembly from Jegs to pull back on the throttle lever. I had to hack an inch or so off the inboard side to avoid contact with the valve cover.

nice but it probably won't work for my application, but may work for 3757 since his carb linkage is parallel while mine is 90 to the engine.

I was hoping to keep it looking GM. I can come up with something that will work . I was just hoping someone might know where I should start looking.

I went with one of these pedal asm. I just need something to attach it to the carb linkage .

It didn't come with the bracket it showed in the ad..., but I can live with that.

I tried out an idea for a bracket, a muffler clamp and a piece of angle iron. I used a bicycle cable as a prototype. I would still like to find gm bracket and pivot .

I have not gotten to drive it yet , but it does feel a lot better. And it looks so much cleaner.

I put the throttle/cable conversion on my '68 C/10 in 2002, before I rebuilt the engine. After about 250,000 miles my 292 was acting poorly. We rebuilt the Holley 8007 390 CFM carb adding a 50CC accelerator pump, and the throttle cable. It ran, but had a bad lope.
Finally I took it into a shop that had a Sun engine analyser. They told me Cylinders 3 and 4 were dead. My L6 was a four-banger. I decided rather than just a doing a valve job, I'd rebuild another 292 core I had stashed. The old build was from 1977.
We finally got that beast on the road in Jan 2005. The Holley ran fine during the 500 mile break-in, but a backfire killed the power valve, and -- suspecting a warped surface on the carb plane -- just replaced the the 390 with an Edelbrock 1404 500 CFM 4 barrel.
After teething problems with the AFB-clone were gone thru, it has run well ever since.
