Re: Motor opinions please

Here's a few:

Motor Works

Summit Crate Engines

Greenwood Chevrolet

Crate Engine Depot.com Lattof Chevrolet

All of these have combo's like I think your looking for and then on up.

Hope it helps.

RJ22...

BTW you mentioned Ebay as your only income there are good deals to be had on crate engine there also just do your research and buy from a reputable seller. Possibly even a newwer take out could be had for a GR8 price but, be careful and check into things before you buy.

Re: Motor opinions please

Not sure about advance but, The local NAPA Auto's sell Jasper engines around here anyway and they always seemed like they got real good feed-back when I worked there almost ten yrs back.

RJ22...

BTW to add to what 72BLUZ said I never bought a crate engine either, I was just listing some good places if I were to. I say rebuild what ya got. I build all my own.

Re: Motor opinions please

a friend of mine bought a crate 350 long block from one of the bowtie places for about $850 and about after a week it blew a headgasket, then he sent it back, when he got it back again the intake would not seal because the block was worped or sumthen like that.

Re: Motor opinions please

FWIW I absolutely refuse to buy anything other than a Goodwrench from the dealer. they now have a 3yr/100K warranty. we have had not a single problem in the past 8 years with them.

(when shopping around compare the warranty specifics. labor rate, % they pay on parts etc. the GMs cover it ALL)

Re: Motor opinions please

if you can find a 5.3 go for it-these new engines make serious power very easy,if I had known this last year I would have never had a 350 built for me

Re: Motor opinions please

Tell ya, that ZZ572 is pretty nice.. Put one in my boat...

I have used a place called Perfect Engine in LA... They did me a 383 for my van with all forged Scat parts... runs awesome...

Raphael is the guy there... it was $2050 for the shortblock
