Speedometer Needle for sale on its own?

I broke mine today, I tried to glue it back together and the whole thing fell apart. Also found that glass cleaner and even just water after trying glass cleaner. The paint will smear the paint on the speedometer and gas gauge.

I will probably pick up a used speedometer eventually. In the mean time If I can't find a repop needle I was wondering if anyone had tips for making my own. With the truck off could I just take something like a wd40 straw line it up with zero and glue it on? Would that be halfway accurate? Thanks

Do a search and see if someone has designed one that can be printed on a 3D printer. Seems to be a near perfect use for 3D printing.

One of those plastic coffee stir sticks might work as a temp pointer.

One of my trucks had a home made speedo needle so you won't be the first. I never investigated how they did it. It looked like a WD40 straw though.

I just replaced my instrument cluster with a Dakota Digital unit on my 77. PM me your address and I'll send you the needle off my old speedo if I don't destroy it removing it. My treat.

Send the complete speedometer. Will save a lot of hassles.

I shaved down a toothpick and glued it to mine. Painted it (carefully!) with gauge needle paint I picked up somewhere, and thus far no one but me has noticed it's not the original needle.

Speedo paint is water based, powdery stuff as it ages, don't even breathe on it.
