My first 1965 c10 bag build----------fast and cheap build

My first 1965 c10 bag build------------------------

My plan is to bag the front and rear. I want it to lay the frame.
383 tpi stroker.

I have built many tube chassis rock crawl rigs but I want to be driving the truck soon so I'm going the cheap and not so right way. Raise the crossmember up 2.50" forward 1"

I’m curious does that front "c notch" of the forward crossmember work??? i have seen the sandwich technique and of course the famous drop member but i have not seen this technique used. What else needs to be modified besides the cutting of the frame??

This has been done before a few times that I know of. I did it on the '82 I built for my son, I only did 1.5" up and no forward movement. I used No Limit's Rack & Pinion conversion for the steering upgrade and used PBFab's lower Forward Arms. Rob (No Limit) did it on their project JT (there is a thread on it in the 67-72 section). There is also another member, theastronaut, that did the same 1.5" up on his truck he is building.

This is much easier then doing the pancake or sectioning of the crossmember itself. If you do not do the rack & pinion conversion, then the steer components will need to be relocated the same dimensions as well.

You're not wasting any time.

Looks like someone massaged that firewall a little. It must have had a big block in it at some time.

I think the firewall is stock. It had a straight six when I got it.

No, it has been beat on at some time to make room for a nonstock engine.
