Thank you, it is out of a 1955 Bel Air. Had to be stretched 9.5 inches, but it fits.

Did you figure out what to do with the cowl along the bottom of the windshield? I've been curious for a while what you decided. This thing is incredible!

Re: Buried to Bagged 1972 2wd

Roadster cowl customization in 5 easy steps!!! I really hope this helps someone out!

Mark where your cowl should be cut to match the A-pillar.
Name: 20181025_113009_resized.jpg
Views: 742
Size: 35.0 KB
First the back portion of the cowl was cut off and relief cuts where made from the back toward the front. I took out about 1.25" at the rear and none across the center of the cowl. I cut out excess metal until both pieces butted together nicely. This gives you a flatter surface than stock.
Name: 20181025_170341_resized.jpg
Views: 828
Size: 35.2 KB
I cut out the fresh air vents on the cowl and replaced it with 18 gauge metal. I made the metal concave to match the cowl then used a shrinker/stretcher to get it to bend properly to match the compound curve from side to side.
Name: 20181102_185100_resized.jpg
Views: 817
Size: 50.6 KB
I worked a little short hair fiberglass into the cuts then went over that with some trusty bondo to get it to look halfway decent.

After a small amount of sanding I got it very close but still feel a small dip where the inside relief cut was made. A little more pookie on it, and it should be good! For the record, I'm not a bodyman!!

Excuse all the junk in the background. Just wanted to post a picture showing the shaved cowl. It makes the whole truck look different.

I have been working to get the dash, door, fender, body and custom sail panel on the door aligned. This is turning into a hassle but it will be worth it in the end.

I have not done much to the Blazer lately, but that is about to change!! This is the concept I have in mind and if it flows together it may be what happens. I am going for the old Corvette look. Thoughts?

This is the reason my Blazer has not been getting much attention. I bought this little 78 GMC and put some time in on it. She is cool, just not old enough.
