Re: Project: What the heck did I get into???

After a year and half, I finally got to hear it run last night.. Sounds badass with open headers too!!

I will try to post pictures as all the sheetmetal, but the hood is on. Wired the entire truck except the air valves. All the lights are in. Should be too much longer..

Looks good. I don't remember if I asked you before, is that the original grille? if not where did you buy it? It looks really good and I am trying to decide which way to go. Thanks.

The grill, upper bar, and eyebrows all came from GMCPauls. It was a chunk of change, but in the end I thought it was worth it.

I had some issues with the right side eyebrow and had to trim a few of the tabs that hold the headlight buckets in, but other than that it fit pretty well..

Awhole lot better than the f'd up aftermarket doors did! I'm still struggling with them.. If I would have known how bad those fit I would have bought some oem truck doors and trimmed them.

Re: Project: What the heck did I get into???

Didn't get it on the ground.. Waiting for some air fittings and have to button up a few things.

My wife was giving me crap about it taking 2hrs to drill a 3/4" hole. Couldn't find the adapter for my hole saw. So after looking for 45 mins for it I took a 1/2" drill and then a file on my die grinder and filed in to 3/4. Then put the grommet on and ran wires and air lines..

I will try to wire the valves and whatnot tonight.. Should be on the ground this weekend, but not completely driveable..

Come on up any time..

Re: Project: What the heck did I get into???

Looks like another old truck is about to hit the VT pavement soon!!

Took a ride north yesterday to check out what Rochlow has been building for almost two years now and as per usual with these old trucks ended up shooting the **** for several hours and consolidating a friendship.

Jeff is in the final stages of building a family memory, he's built a driver the he & his family will have an absolute blast in for years to come!

Good to see ya again Jeff, sweet blazer ...even for a 2wd.

Well, got it on the ground

I noticed that one of the plugs was arcing on the heading. So I changed it out. Started it then the motor fell on it face. after it stalled gas was still pouring in the carb, So I think I have some dirt or something in it..
