GRRRR!!! Need 6-lug rotors

I ordered parts to convert my c20 to six-lug with disc brakes about 3 years ago. I finally got around to doing the job, went to put the wheels back on and realized that they sent me 5-lug rotors! And it's friday night! GRRRRRR!!!! Early Classic would probably take care of the situation, but that would be next week.
Does anyone know what vehicle would have the six-lug disc rotors? I really want to get this finished and I'm hoping a local parts place will have what I need.

Sorry, but there is not a vehicle with the correct rotors. 88 to ninety-something 6 lug 3/4 ton rotors can be made to work, but are not a direct bolt on. IIRC you have to grind some of the brake pad material off because they are too thick for the rotor. I'd wait on the correct ones from ECE if it were me.

I don't mean to hijack your thread but you brought up a problem I'm having. I've got a 70 gmc half ton and I've got drop spindles that will take a 73-82? rotor, but I want to keep the six lug pattern cause I already have wheels. I talked to a guy from No Limits Engineering a few years ago and he said their 6 lug rotors were from a Heavy half ton or something like that. But I have never been able to figure out what he was talking about. Anybody got any ideas?

I will be talking to Early Classic about it on Monday morning for sure. Those guys are pretty smart. If they're open tomorrow, I'll find out sooner.
I seem to remember something about the heavy 1/2 ton or a van or burb that used a 6-lug disc rotor, but that was a long time ago.

it was inacurate too. The heavy 1/2 was a 5 lug.

I have the 6-lug rotors on my disc conversion, too. I had the wheels and tires at the time, and it was what I wanted to do. Since the rear end is original, and due to the fact that 5-lug axles aren't a bolt-in for this model, I was convinced to stay with the 6-lug.

I, too, know of no 6-lug rotor that you can go buy off the shelf.

Who did you purchase your rotors from? Seems like someone erred in not checking the shipment....whether it was the vendor or the purchaser. When I got my parts, I quickly noted that the spindles I got were for a stock-height disc conversion, although I had ordered the dropped spindles. A phone call to the vendor had them shipping out the correct spindles and had them in my hands before they were needed. No questions asked. UPS brought the right parts and picked up the others in the same stop.

But, the heavy half was a marketing ploy to counter Fords' F-150 series. It was still a half-ton truck, with the same stuff on it as the others. The suspension was a bit heavier-duty, but that didn't require a 6-lug setup.

Oh, and it got decals on the rear side of the bed to denote that it was a "Heavy Half".

Yep, My old '78 GMC Heavy Half had regular 5 lug Rallies.

Since you have everything ready to go, I would buy one rotor for the 3/4 ton newer truck and try it! Please let us know how it works if you try it!

actually, the ford was still called F-100 through the 70's. Wasn't till 80 - 82 IIRC.
The heavy half was a smog thing in all reality. Bump the GVW up just a few pounds, and they were able to keep the smog stuff off the truck. (some of it anyways)

F-150's came out in 1976, also the first year for front disc brakes on Ford 4x4's.
The 88 and up light duty 2wd 3/4 ton rotor and hub assembly is what the link is all about. If you have a 6 lug hub, an 88 and up 6 lug 4x4 rotor may work.
If it is one piece them the light duty 3/4 ton 6 lug from 88 and up is what your looking for.

The only reason I know is I've owned a couple of Fords, an early one without disc brakes and did the research to find them to install them and a 2 speed t-case on a 74 F-100 4x4. My 74 F-100 was the drum braked, single speed t-case with a short bed 360 2 bbl and a 4 speed truck transmission. Converted to discs and a 205 t-case. Installed a 4bbl and dual exhaust too. Not a bad truck for a Ford. (But had to do way more work to it to make it nice than any Chevy I've ever owned).
