Re: 68' GMC Build from Sweden

The engine bay with the wheel wells is almost done, just some pieces to cover up the holes from the side against the fenders.

This is the second pair of wheel wells we did, never finished the first ones cause we didnt quite like it, it had some warpage and on these ones we used a bead roller instead of folded edges like on the first pair. We're happy with the outcome.

the holes left to cover as you see.

holes from the old moldings covered up.

Re: 68' GMC Build from Sweden

We have to go through car inspection here in Sweden to get the truck street legal with all the changes and yesterday it pulled through (now we know Porterbuilt is approved in sweden too ) so now with that out of the way we can focus on whats left to do and then get it ready for paint.

Some things arent done yet but whens it all done it'll be stripped down in pieces and painted separately and the frame needs to be painted again too so its alot to do.

Re: 68' GMC Build from Sweden

We're bad to keep the updates coming as the build continues so this will contain pictures of what has happened since last update. I could just show pics of how it sits now but instead I'll post all stages.

heres a mock up of the door panels.

the new rear bumper fitted.

did some more to the bed frame/hatch and then got the wood in place and the installed a handle/lock to the floor hatch.

The sub box done and tested and it works.

Re: 68' GMC Build from Sweden

added 1 more piece to the front wheel wells so it cover up the front area.

Then we went to the upholstery guy to look on colors choices and vinyl to go with for the interior.

The whole frame stripped down and off to get painted.

...and on our way home we picked up the bed, doors, fenders for our -72 chevy longbed that might be shortend. This stuff came from Arizona.

While the frame's away we started to paint the underside off the bed, inside off the fenders and bedsides with por15.

Re: 68' GMC Build from Sweden

some goodies came for the truck.

Now the frame's back from the paint and we have just started wit the installation of all parts again.

2 days ago the interior except the steering wheel and carpet got finished and we think it turned out really good.

Finally got the cab, cowl and air tanks painted. Por15'd the floor and sound proofed it. We have also managed to wrap the sub box now that ones done.

Still working on this? Question, did you use the large or small bear claw latches?
