i have a 72 chevy short box that id like to lower. it has leafs in the back. is this normal? most of the c10's ive seen have coils.

Chevy's could be ordered with leaves, it's more often than not they have coils but it's not uncommon to see leaves.

I'm not too familiar with sources for drop components for leaf pickups but www.earlyclassic.com sells 4'' drop leaves and 1.5'' drop shackles. Not cheap though.

haha yeah i did some research and found that leaf springs arent cheap. but thanks for the info anyway. im still prolly gonna lower it

Waiting for the rest of the famn damily to show up I walked outside and took a pic of shannon



One coil cut off in the front (about 2 inches)
2 inch lowering block in the back
and wore out shocks all around.

Front tires are 235 70 15 and the back tires are 275 60 15's

front coils cut 3 1/2"
Rear 3" drop springs.
Total Cost $84.00
Last pic has about 1,200 lbs of hickory on it.
Drops her about another 2"

Search the suspension section of this board. Just get on there and start reading. Go all the way back thru at least 10 pages. All of this has been covered many times. That's what I did, just open up threads and read.
