Has anyone ever seen a bed like this?

He says it is a Mexico model. The body lines match but the fender opening looks like a mid 60's ford.

HAHA no its not. Its a mexican bed. Mexican trucks were shipped cab and chassis style and they made their own beds to cut shipping costs.

Re: Has anyone ever seen a bed like this?

You know if you wanted a project and this one could be had cheapenough, that bed and cluster probably would be pretty easy to sell as I have seen several people asking about both items. Change those out and have a fairly decent start on a efi conversion that already starts and runs. Jim

Re: Has anyone ever seen a bed like this?

Its a little cool because it's rare... but ugly because it looks like a ford bed on a Chevy.

Re: Has anyone ever seen a bed like this?

Seen quite a few of them them pop up on this site.

If you want to see something crazy, you should see the avalanche and tahoe looking 67-72 that was sold in argentina....

The argentina bed is even cooler than the Mexico bed... it looks just like the mexico bed, except it has the correct/matching fender wells.

See pics here:

Good pics and info. They are cool for what they are, but the US models still look the best. All of the foreign models look generic.

Re: Has anyone ever seen a bed like this?

I guess the "avalanche" isn't in that thread I posted above.

Here's a pic of the "tahoe", notice the shorter wheelbase and lower rear door area, it's curved around the wheel well, just like todays tahoe vs suburban.

And here's a couple of the "avalanches". These aren't modified, this is how they were sold in argentina. Also notice the "avalance" isn't on the suburban body, it's on the "tahoe" body. Someone posted a brochure with them all once.

Re: Has anyone ever seen a bed like this?

I've seen that bed every time someone posts a thread asking about them. The only one I've seen in person was at Carlisle Trucks back 15 or so years ago.
