That will make a nice difference on the firewall. The magnets look really handy. Do you remember where you got them Mark?
Thanks!

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

Update....

Pic #1. Holes,Holes and more holes to be filled!!!

Pic #2. After getting some welded and metal finished..

Pic #3. After doing all the work filling in the holes I didn't care for how it was coming out....So I made a flat plate to cover the entire section. I know more work but it will look much better in the end...

Pic #4. Here I bolted it to the firewall and using Clecko's to hold it in place for tacking and final weld..

Pic #2. All welded in place..

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

Pic #1. This is the start of making that junk collector go away...1st I used Eastwood encapsulator inside the trough.

Pic #2. The start of getting the strips tacked in place (using 16g because i had it )

Pic #3. Here I'm showing the angle I set it at to prevent water (if any) to roll off the ledge. It is set at 10 degrees.

Pic #4. Another look, with the transition tacked in place.
(As i worked my way to through bend the degree started to drop to 0 )

Pic #5. One more shot...

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

Pic #1. The front edge all ground and smoothed out.
Pic #2. Here I'm showing the process I used...After 1st round of welding I would grind down the main portion of the weld then start the next round of welds to help prevent holes in between your welds..

Pic #3. This was after all welding was done and the grinding as well.

Pic #4. 2nd view up close..

Pic #5. After all metal finish was done for a better overall look..

Till next time..
Mark...
