We took the Bighorn mountains from buffalo to Cody
I was a bit worried about the truck from yesterday

It performed great
I think the pass was just shy of 10,000'

I don't think this truck has ever seen elevation like that before
It spent it's whole life in North Carolina

Just want to add my compliments for your great photography. I've really enjoyed the journey so far, just wish I was doing the same thing.

Big sky, open country, lay of the land. Now when someone asks, "Where's the remote", you can tell them you went there.

Re: 72 Super Roadtrip-Coast to Coast

From Cody
We headed for Yellowstone
About an hour before we got there
Brad thought he saw a giant boulder
On the side of the road
Nope, it was a bison having lunch

We got this picture
Not knowing if we would see any other
Wildlife

Even got it framed

These guys belonged to a heard probably
Greater than 300
They were all crossing the road
We caught the tail end of them

Sat in traffic for over 1/2 hour

Re: 72 Super Roadtrip-Coast to Coast

On Cody we down loaded an ap

GyPSy Guide (check out the spelling)

This thing was unbelievable
Hooked it up to blue tooth on that EU Roll speaker
On our dash

It was like having your own tour guide
Everywhere in the park

If you are going to national parks
Maybe even other destinations, I'm not sure

It will be the best $5 bucks you spend....

Ha, I know exactly where that last pic was taken! There's a small road that winds around there and I was going to get a pic of my car there but I missed the location so I backed up a bit...... Right into a big rock buried in the ground! Didn't hurt the car, but did slightly bend the right rear wheel.

Re: 72 Super Roadtrip-Coast to Coast

Thanks for the thread. Looking at your pictures of the the needles it reminded me of trip me and and the wife took out our GoldWing motorcycle. Instead of touring around on the Wing we jumped on a Day Tour Bus and the bus ( Greyhound size) actually drove through the needle like you did with your truck. Beautiful country around the Black Hills.

here ya go... not your year, but a ballpark figure. Think of the savings on motel rooms, and you could fix vittles too. Harvest an occasional critter along the way for the stew pot.

Re: 72 Super Roadtrip-Coast to Coast

Haven't lots of us dreamed of doing this. Vicarious living. I've been curious(since you left point of origin) to see how engine handles altitude changes and effect on MPG IF you've monitored that. Have you encountered any rain yet? I haven't read in a few days.
