X-fer Case Blues - Pt2

So, in calling around, I've found a '70 blazer w/ manual tranny & X-fer. Any of you have a good idea as to what they will probably be? I'm hoping 465/205!

Re: X-fer Case Blues - Pt2

My 70 K5 is a 4 speed and supposedly had a Dana 20 - it was gone when I got the vehicle. The t/c floor shift cover looked different so I think it probably did have the Dana 20.

It should be either an NP205 or Dana 20 - hope it's the NP205.

My 70 k5 drive train is 100% stock line up, so yes she has the 4 speed with the dana 20.

Re: X-fer Case Blues - Pt2

I never knew anything but the 3spd went in front of a Dana case and thought all 4spds came with a NP205 from`70-up.I guess Blazers were an exception.I used to think all 3spds came with Dana20s until I saw Suburbans and pickups with 3spd/205s.It`s like they thought of the Blazer as being that much lighter duty?
