Re: Just a few pics of my 72 2wd
The truck wasn't on air until Sept , I wanted to get it lower for some pics at a buddies wedding so we chucked in the bags and just mounted 1/4" lines and Schrader valves under the rear bumper temporarily .
everything is being redone right now , all half inch lines , new compressors , tanks , control arms and auto levelling control |

Re: Just a few pics of my 72 2wd
Nice! Just so you know I have 1/2" lines and valves in it right now and feel it's WAY too fast...this is even with 3/8" ports coming out of the tank. I purchase flow controls for the fills and adjustable mufflers for the dumps to slow it down to a respectable speed. Right now it almost comes off the ground if the tank is full and I don't just flick the lift button.

Re: Just a few pics of my 72 2wd

Re: Just a few pics of my 72 2wd
Thanks guys ! The hatch was actually really easy to do , mine was cracked in the bottom inside section so it had to be rebuilt anyways. I basically cut out a 10" section of the inside ridge of the hatch , removed the T Handle and all of the guts associated with it , I had my fiberglasser lay me in 1/4" of Fiberglass woven mat with multiple layers of SMC resin to beef it up , We then shaved the hole where the original t handle went and contoured the outer edge to look as if it was never there , mounted 2 poppers in the center of the hatch with some stainless hardware , fiberglassed the hole shut again and smoothed/painted it
I retained the original latches and rods from the outer latch points on the hatch and hooked them up to the 2 Spall door popper actuators and made a few adjustments until they were the proper stroke and length , wired it up to my trunk relay on my alarm and it was good to go. I'll toss a few pics up tonight of the build so you can see how it went together I have about 3 hours invested timewise , 40 bucks in fiberglass matting and resin and 18 bucks in door poppers |

That blue color is awesome. What shade of blue is that? Is it a factory color for some other vehicle? Do you have the paint code by chance?

Re: Just a few pics of my 72 2wd
Looks nice. What kind of front grill and headlights is that?
I just purchased a 1972 blazer yesterday. It came with an aftermarket grill that I do not like. |

Re: Just a few pics of my 72 2wd
Well back to the hot rod shop for some changes to the power plant , I ended up getting the deal of a century on a Salvage corvette with an LS3 powerplant in it so she's currently getting a transplant. Pics to follow !

Re: Just a few pics of my 72 2wd
Hey Tom , the new LS power plant is installed , waiting on my vintage air front runner setup and new heat and ac unit to arrive. Put in the new wildwood billet master cylinder today to get rid of the big booster on the firewall . New inner wheel tubs are installed and painted along with my porterbuilt hood hinges. Waiting on my custom rad to show up so we can hopefully fire her up early next week and get it tuned
Still on the fence about adding a supercharger or not and not many new pics to throw up here for you guys yet. Been a busy season around the boat shop so we haven't had much time to work on it. |

Re: Just a few pics of my 72 2wd
If you need to move the old big block and supercharger, my postal code is V1C2J8. I'll pick up the tab for the shipping. :0)
I would still like to see a pic of the old engine. Trying to figure out how you stuffed it under the hood. I have a line on a 402 which will hopefully get dropped in this spring. Definitely upload a vid of your new engine when you fire it up. Very sweet ride. Love your Blazer. Gives me something to aspire to. Still need to get my provincial done first. |
