Re: Ignition plate

Thank you for your reply. according to the wiper motor in mine (just had to replace, it had a bad spot in the motor) mine was built after 02/68 and is a anniversary as well. It originated in the charlotte area, built in baltimore, but it never in its relatively unmolested years has had an ignition plate. Yours is he firs that I have seen in a 68 model, and was under the impression they did not start until 69 model year. Maybe someone else can chime in as well on this.

Re: Ignition plate

I have had 3, 1968 Chevy trucks, none of mine have it.
My 68 that I have here at the house was built in March 26, 1968

You know I just assumed myself that they are talking about the little 1.1/2" long plate over top of the ignition that says... Acc off on start.

I had it in all of my 1971s & and 72s

Re: Ignition plate

yeah, I ordered a replacement one for my '68 50th and then realised i didnt have the holes in the dash to mount it, so I figured it wasn't supposed to be there on a '68
