Rocker/outer floor edge/body mount repair order

Before starting this process, I wanted advice on the proper order. My rocker boxes are solid on both sides, I just need to replace the outer rocker panels and the inner with the outer floor edges. The body mounts are shot too. Should the body mounts be replaced first before anything else?

Re: Rocker/outer floor edge/body mount repair order

order of business before you do anything...

- put hard top on to assure your body is aligned
- replace body mounts
- shim body mount at b-pillar and make sure both doors open/close w/o sticking

you are going to want to work from the inside out
outer floor with inner rocker attached (watch your alignment at A and B pillars)
tack weld or sheet metal screw the outer rocker on and check for door gaps and rubbing before welding anything in place

Get some pix of the work you are doing - I've never seen the rust stop in these spots as there is usually some lurking behind the outer rocker when you remove it.

Thought of something else - Review as many build threads as you can as each can provide some extra information that may prove beneficial to your rust repair.

Check this one out - starting at post #20 and you can see what the repair will entail. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=676047

Re: Rocker/outer floor edge/body mount repair order

Thanks for the input. The images in the build thread you linked are all blurred out with a photobucket logo on top of them. Is there anyway to view the regular photos?

EDIT: Nevermind, just realized the problem is with photobucket changes and not related to my browser. This issue sure affects a large number of threads.
