Shock mounts on 14 bolt

Putting in a 14 bolt in 72 jimmy. When it come to the shock mounts on the diff. One is forward on is facing the rear. Does the forward one line up? Or does it need to be cut and moved?

Re: Shock mounts on 14 bolt

I just bought new shock mounts and mounted them as per the old 12 bolt. Works great. That was in 2000.

Re: Shock mounts on 14 bolt

I made a jig that bolted to the stock shock mounts on the 12 bolt and sat on the center section. I cut them off, cleaned them up, and welded them on the 14 bolt. A semi-float in the case of my truck. Used the jig again on my kid's Jimmy project with another semi float. I reused the 14 bolt shock mounts on it. I like the way the original 72 12 bolt shock mounts worked better FWIW.
