454 engine smog/air pump

I have a 84 chevy silverado c20. 454 engine. Im having issues with smog pump. Ordered one from ebay but not sure if I got all the necessary parts.
Can anyone tell me where I can find a picture or diagram of the engine and smog pump?? If anyone has a repair manual for the 84 silverado can you maybe take a picture of the engine and smog pump repair pages from the book and send them to me please??
My truck passed emissions but they won't pass me until I get a Smog pump on. It's the only car we have right now and I need it to take my daughter to her chemo next week.
I'm desperate. If anyone can help I would appreciate it greatly.
Thank you

Re: 454 engine smog/air pump

I have a 86,C-30,454 but the stickers gone.As is the smog stuff.
A lot of California smog trucks have dual pumps and charcoal canisters. So if it's from there,it's really giong to be hard to find the info.
Maybe some place like Auto Zone has the diagrams and pictures.
All I can come up with!
Mike.

Re: 454 engine smog/air pump

All 73-87 here had charcoal canisters. But not all had the air pump.
the book I was looking in was us printed.
Does you big Block exhaust manifolds have the holes at the top and air injector line attached on both sides.
Pic's of your engine bay and your passenger side upper Rad support.
Is this motor all ways been in it. Have you ever replaced the exhaust manifolds.
the air pump is mounted low most times. Not sure if it share the same bracket as one of the 6cyl.

Re: 454 engine smog/air pump

heres a few diagrams that may or may not be helpful.

From my 83 GMC K3500 Sierra Classic, and an 83 airstream RV. Mine is the one with the Charcoal Canister.

If you are having a hard time tracking down the bracket, I may still have it somewhere in my garage - I'd have to dig. I converted mine over to serpentine. It can be yours for a 12 pack of 805 + Shipping.

Re: 454 engine smog/air pump

I took a few pics of the smog pump on my 83 C20 454, but it is very difficult to see details. My diagram also shows a vacuum line going to the back of the smog pump, but I don't see any lines connecting directly to the pump. There seems to be a narrow rectangular piece attached to the back of the pump, which then attaches to a round canister. My guess is that you can just install the pump and as long as there are no open holes not attached to something it will pass.
