Parking brake bypass?

I just bought a dvd player(VR3 brand with a built in 3in lcd screen),and i can not get it to play the dvds.I get an error message that reads -Parking brake..........I looked at the owner's manual and there is a wire from the reciever that i need to connect to the -neg wire on the parking brake.. anyone here know how I can bypass the problem and get the unit to play the dvds on my 69? thanks

I think you can ground that wire with one of your other ground wires.Your tricking it to think your parking break is on.Mine was tied in with another wire.

I can watch mine while I drive.I have a flip up Eclipse.I'm pretty sure I just ran that wire to a ground.I hope someone else chimes in just to be sure.If the manual tells you to run it to the brake ground, then a ground is a ground.Good luck.

Re: Parking brake bypass?

can you post up a picture of what your dvd player looks like in your truck? I'm thinking about putting one in mine.
