Paint vs thinner?

Just getting started painting my ‘57. Base coat, clear coat urethane. Doing a 2 tone gray and white. Data sheet calls for 2 parts color and 1 part thinner on basecoats. That mix works beautiful for the gray. When i use it for the white it is noticeably thinner. Hard to keep from making runs. Have thought of reducing the thinner in the white by 50% makeing the mix 2 parts color, 1/2 part thinner. That makes consistency much closer to the gray mixed 2-1. Question will reducing the thinner slow the flash point causing me to go slower between coats? Any thoughts appreciated, very rookie here.

It shouldn’t make any difference air pressure and gun adjustment for material flow will also make a difference
