67-72 cluster info
I have been working on the ramp truck cluster this past week and hit a little snag when going back in.
Here is what I found out and how I fixed it. Long story short verision: Took cluster out to install new tach because the last one burnt the board up in less than 4 months time. Brother sent new tach with no questions asked. Ok got the new tach took cluster out and replaced. No big deal. I did add a 3amp fuse to the 12 volt source though this time but no coil filter. Installed the cluster and tach works great. Checked all the connections and turned on the lights and the turn signals and the dash lights are not working. The dash turn signals are blinking but backwards from signal switch. The front's and backs are working right!!! Dash turn signals lights work fine with head lights off though! So after checking things I pulled the cluster back out. Look at the printed circuit good and found a gash in the ground circuit for the dash lights by the bulk head connector. So I ran a wire under the light bulb connector over to the ground in the tin and the light came back on. Reinstalled and everything is back to working again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPrq2X1JHlI

Where did you take your 12 volts power from for the tach? A lot of guys take it from the fuel gauge but I would take it from the fuse panel. Here's a pic.
